Permissions and granting permissions

Content viewing and/or editing permissions can be granted in Moniviestin. Users who are not logged in can see published content.

Permissions in Moniviestin

There are many different kind of permissions in Moniviestin, which are affected by

  • State of the content (private/published)
  • User status (not logged in, HAKA logged in, HAKA logged in with additional permissions)

Usually video will be published after adding it. After that it can be viewed even without logging in.

Giving permissions

Permissions can be given in Moniviestin either by

  • page basis to groups or
  • directly to content for single users (or groups)

Usually permissions for content are granted for one user or one group at a time. This way to grant permissions is very flexible.

NB! Permissions can be granted only after the person who needs the said permissions have logged in with HAKA account at least once. After this the successfull login person can be found from the user management of the Moniviestin and the permissions can be granted.

Permissions can be granted from the Permissions tab of the folder / program.

Usually when setting up supervisors permissions all four checkboxes are checked: (adding, modifying, viewing and publishing is allowed).

Logging in with HAKA account does not automatically grant more permissions but, if needed, permissions can be granted to "logged in users" (viewing permission for a certain video for example).

Pathkey

In addition to personal accounts, content viewing can be protected with a simple pathkey. See more from the guide "Protecting content with pathkey"
